Privacy Policy

plato·hash is operated by Plato. This site is a single-purpose web utility for computing cryptographic hashes. It does not require an account, does not transmit your inputs or files to any server, and stores nothing beyond what your browser keeps locally.

What we collect

• Text you enter and files you drop — processed 100% in your browser. All hash computations use the browser's built-in crypto.subtle API and an inline MD5 implementation. Files are read with the FileReader API. Verify by opening DevTools → Network — no requests are made when you hash text or files.
• Anonymous analytics — we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and understand which features are useful. No personal data is linked to analytics events.
• Advertising — this site uses Google AdSense to serve ads. Google may use cookies and similar technologies. You can opt out at Google Ads Settings.

What we do NOT collect

• Your name, email, address, or phone number — we don't ask
• The text, files, or hashes you compute — never transmitted
• Account information — there are no accounts
• Payment information — the tool is free

Third-party services

• Cloudflare Pages — for hosting. Cloudflare may log basic request metadata (IP, user agent, timestamp) per their privacy policy.
• Google AdSense — for ads. See Google Ads policies.

Cookies

The tool itself does not set cookies. Google AdSense sets cookies via Google's domain. You can block or clear these via your browser settings without affecting the tool's functionality.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Data subject rights (GDPR, CCPA)

Since we do not collect personal information beyond anonymous analytics, in most cases there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, or delete. Contact us if you have a specific request.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. Substantive changes will be noted on the homepage.
